Bob Arum: A-list status won't save Floyd Mayweather from Manny Pacquiao knockout
Manny Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, has said Floyd Mayweather's A-list status will count for nothing when the two enter the ring in their welterweight showdown on 2 May, saying he is confident Pacquiao can knockout the undefeated fighter.
Arum, was responding to suggestions from some quarters that the 60-40 split in favour of Mayweather of the rumoured £150m ($232m) fight, along with the Las Vegas location, was giving Mayweather a higher status over Pacquiao going into the bout.
"If he wants to consider himself the A-side, that's fine. He's going to come into the ring last and he's going to be introduced last. That ain't going to help him or save him from getting knocked out by Manny Pacquiao" he said.
Arum, who also promoted Mayweather from 1996 to 2006, was speaking to the press ahead of the highly anticipated "Fight of the Century" at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Five division world champion Mayweather will be looking to continue his undefeated professional record, though he faces a tough task against the 36-year-old Filipino.
American television network HBO will be streaming events live on YouTube, with a slated start time of 4pm ET/9pm BST.
The bout itself is available to be purchased in the UK on Sky Sports Box Office.
