A 35-year-old man was arrested after the alarm was raised by Monika Lasek's 14-year-old son, it was reported.
Police have arrested a man after the bloodsoaked body of a woman was discovered in her Yorkshire home by her 14-year-old son.
According to reports the 14-year-old boy screamed that there was "lots of blood" as he raised the alarm to neighbours at 11.32am on Sunday (26 November).
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after police were called to the home in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
The 36-year-old victim, named locally as Monika Lasek, was stabbed before her death and pronounced dead at the scene shortly after emergency services arrived.
According to reports, neighbours had to smash down the door to gain access to the flat where the mother shared her home with her husband and three children.
The man who was arrested on suspicion of murder was said to have been found in the home with minor injuries, reported The Sun.
The 14-year-old raised the alarm after he came back from the shops to find his mother dead in the home, in Solstice Way.
Neighbour Janusz Sawka, 65, told the Daily Mail that he saw the boy hitting the door: "He was screaming and shouting for me to help him. He said: 'My mother is on the floor and there's lots of blood.'"
Janusz said his two nephews had to smash the windows to gain access to the home, where Monika was found dead on the floor, in the corridor of the property.
"There was a lot of blood. When I saw her I knew she was already dead," said Janusz.
"I knew them as neighbours so we used to talk about things like the weather all the time, but there's not much I can really tell you about them."
Det Chief Insp Jim Griffiths, of West Yorkshire Police, said: "Inquiries into this incident are at an early stage and I would appeal to anyone who has any information about it to contact police on 101."
