Brad Pitt spent Thanksgiving at secluded resort away from Angelina Jolie and children

It seems like the bitter divorce battle with wife Angelina Jolie did not stop Brad Pitt from getting a much needed break during the Thanksgiving weekend. Reports suggest that the actor enjoyed a tropical getaway in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The Allied actor has faced some turbulent times in the recent past after Jolie filed for divorce and sought full custody of their six children – Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins, Vivienne and Knox, 8. Apart from the highly publicised divorce, the actor was under constant media scrutiny over child abuse allegations and an emotional supervised reunion with his children.

A source told People magazinethat the 52-year-old actor had a relaxed weekend with an old friend following the entire saga. "Brad had a very restful and relaxing stay in the company of an old friend," the insider told the news outlet.

Subsequently, the Mirror claimed that The Allied actor was not allowed to spend the Thanksgiving weekend with his children. "He was at Amanyara in Turks and Caicos over Thanksgiving in a private villa [because] Angie wouldn't let him see the kids. Brad was with one of his male buddies for the weekend," a source told the publication.

Previously reports said that Pitt, who is apparently seeking joint custody of his children, wanted to meet them for Thanksgiving, but was turned down by the Maleficent actress.

"The reports that she refused to let him see them on Thanksgiving or originally called a truce and then went back on it are all false," a source told ET Online, quashing rumours that the entire family was planning a reunion. "They were never planning to see Brad on Thanksgiving [as] per the schedule created by the children and the family therapist."
