Brit Boy Bands Back? The Wanted and One Direction Lead the Way [VIDEO]
Among the British singers and rock bands topping US charts, "The Wanted" is definitely gaining an edge over "One Direction".
According to a report by MusicWeek, the former have become the first UK boy band to have a Top 3 US chart hit. Their song "Glad You Came" rose to No 1 in the US iTunes Pop Chart and No 2 in the charts overall.
In addition, the band is also apparently the first to reach the Top 10 of the US AirPlay chart since the Backstreet Boys in 2005 and are also the first British boy band to lead the Canadian iTunes chart.
It would appear there is a revolution of sorts being heralded!
Could Brit boy bands be making a comeback? Are "The Wanted" at the tip of a wave of music set to take over the US?
It is not just them. Adele, Jessie J, Coldplay and Calvin Harris are the other British singers in the Top 50.
Incidentally, "The Wanted" just completed their debut US tour... and the tickets were sold out. They are currently scheduled to play in London's O2 Arena, on Saturday, 3, March.
