Carolina Woman Helen Ann Williams Stabs Husband with Squirrel
A woman in South Carolina has been arrested for stabbing her husband with a squirrel after he failed to bring home any beer on Christmas Eve.
Helen Ann Williams was charged with domestic abuse after being accused of hitting her husband over the head with a ceramic squirrel then stabbing him with it in the chest.
The decorative ornament was used as a weapon on the nig'ht of Christmas Eve. Police found the man after he escaped to a neighbours house just after midnight.
He was found with a "large, deep" gash from his shoulder to his chest, NBC News reports. He also suffered from cuts to his face.
Williams, 44, told officers her husband had fallen, but he maintained she attacked him after he came home without beer and informed her that all the stores were shut for Christmas.
Police were sceptical of Williams's version of events as she had blood on her hands and clothes.
She was held in the Charleston County Jail and bail was set at $10,000 (£6,000) and faces a hearing on a felony charge of domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature in April.
Her husband was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
