Celebrity Big Brother 2016: Stephanie Davis ditched by boyfriend after Jeremy McConnell rumours
Stephanie Davis' boyfriend Sam Reece has declared that he "will no longer be supporting" his girlfriend during her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The British model took to his Twitter account on 11 January to tell his followers: "Hi everyone, I will no longer be supporting Stephanie Davis... Thanks for all your support and love you have given me!!"
Former Hollyoaks star Davis and fellow housemate Jeremy McConnell have been seen to have grown close since the celebrities entered the house on 5 January. The former Mr Ireland was even heard whispering to Davis that he loved her in one episode.
In the Diary Room in 11 January's show, Davis sobbed to the camera: "I want Sam. I love him so much, I want to see him. He is the one thing that makes me happy. I just don't want Sam to be mugged off on the outside because I know Jeremy likes us, but he's my best friend in here and I couldn't be without him and we have a laugh.
"But I would be devastated if... I keep thinking about Sam being sad. I've not done anything but I'm just worried in case people try and say stuff when it's not like that. Just because Jeremy fancies us, and I've spoken to him a few times and he said he can't wait to meet Sam but then he still keeps kissing us on the shoulder and that.
"But I know, he keeps looking at me like he's in love with me. If Justin Bieber got down on one knee and proposed to me I'd say no, I love Sam that much. And I love Justin Bieber."
McConnell also made his own confessions in the privacy of the Diary Room, stating: "I don't want to look like a homewrecker. She's a gorgeous girl, we have a laugh. Of course I flirt with the girl. I know if I'm in the house any longer it's going to get worse – my head's messed up."
When Big Brother asked Jeremy if he and Stephanie were more than friends, he replied: "Of course it's more than friends. It's obvious," which, given the timings, seemed to influence Reece's tweet.
Meanwhile, more drama was happening in the house as contestant Jonathan Cheban exited the competition prematurely, on the grounds that he was suffering from severe anxiety and believed that he was "going to have a heart attack". According to a Channel 5 spokesperson, "his exit will appear in tonight's show on Channel 5 at 9pm."
