Chris Brown Las Vegas assault accusations dropped as alleged victim opts not to pursue charges
Charges made against Chris Brown stating he was involved in an assault on another man have been dropped.
The 26-year-old r'n'b artist was allegedly involved in a fight early Monday morning (4 May) that broke out when he was playing a game of basketball on his private court at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
According to TMZ, the alleged victim detailed what happened and who was involved to the Las Vegas Police Department when receiving treatment for his injuries at the Sunrise hospital. Brown had supposedly already left the scene of the attack before police arrived for questioning.
However, the man has now decided to not pursue the charges he first made against Brown.
The LVPD put forward a statement late last night (5 May) stating the man had told detectives that "he no longer wants to go forward with criminal charges. This case will not be pursued any further."
This is not the first time the Forever singer has been accused of violence.
Back in 2009, Brown was arrested for an assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna. Avoiding a prison sentence, he was put on a six-year probation which only ended seven weeks ago.
In October 2013, he was also charged in connection with an assault on a man attempting to get a picture of him outside a Washington hotel and was sentenced to two-and-a-half months in jail.
In early 2014, the singer was reportedly kicked out of a California rehab facility he was court-ordered to attend and later jailed for breaching his probation in March. He was released early in June, due to prison overcrowding.
Brown recently learned that he was the father to a 10-month-old child named Royalty, who he conceived with former model Nia Guzman, and is reportedly desperate for the 31-year-old mother of his child to move to Hollywood so he can be closer to his daughter.
A source told TMZ: "He genuinely wants a meaningful relationship with Royalty. He's saying he'd like to see her every day."
