Chris Hemsworth responds to Liam and Miley Cyrus engagement reports
Chris Hemsworth has responded to reports that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have reunited. The Thor star revealed that he is not aware of his brother's dating life.
While speaking on the Today Show from New York, host Lisa Wilkinson asked Chris if his family was preparing for a wedding. He said: "Not that I know of. I saw the very accurate reports on that subject. I don't know how reliable that source is!"
Liam and the We Can't Stop singer started dating in 2009, when they co-starred in the Nicholas Sparks film, The Last Song. In 2012, he proposed to the Wrecking Ball hitmaker with a 3.5-carat Neil Lane diamond ring. The couple made their last public appearance together at the premiere of his film Paranoia at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles, before he officially announced his split from her.
However, recently rumours were in overdrive over Liam and Cyrus reuniting after they were spotted together in Australia — the Hunger Games actor's home country — during the holiday season. The two reportedly spent New Year's Eve together as well.
In an interview with Elle magazine, Cyrus had confessed that she thought she would die without her Disney career and Liam. She said: "When I went through a really intense breakup — you know, I was engaged — and when I was with him [Hemsworth] or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn't there to carry me anymore or if I didn't have him."
"And now I'm free of both of those things, and I'm fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I'm totally okay, and that's so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn't have a boyfriend," she said.
