Coleen Rooney exposes marital problems with shamed Wayne in epic Facebook post
Coleen and Wayne's marriage has been on rocky ground since he pleaded guilty to drink-driving in September.
Coleen Rooney has released an epic 692 word Facebook post explaining her current marital situation with her footballer husband Wayne, telling her followers: "I'm just real".
The 31-year-old WAG explains why she hasn't been wearing her wedding ring, claiming that she sees the band as a "sign of commitment" and admits that she has been "unsure what was happening" in her nine-year marriage to the Everton striker.
She says: "It didn't feel right wearing my ring, I see it as a sign of commitment and I was unsure what was happening. I don't always wear my ring day to day, especially when I go the gym which is where I get stalked by paps each morning. So, if I don't always have it on, maybe it's just because am going the gym or haven't put it on before the school run!!"
Wayne has been in the doghouse with Coleen since September after he was arrested for drink-driving in party girl Laura Simpson's car after a night out in Cheshire. He was subsequently banned from driving for two years after he pleaded guilty to a charge of drink-driving and was also given 100 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order.
Coleen's anger towards her husband, who began dating as a 16-year-old, is evident in the post.
She also wrote: "I'm not going to list his good qualities as a person as I don't think he deserves it at this time but one thing is that he is a brilliant dad. He's made silly and selfish mistakes, some he's learnt from, some obviously not. However maybe that will change?"
The pregnant mother then appears to defend Wayne's terrible mistakes, adding: "I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol, it changes some people drastically."
She concludes by saying she still loves Wayne and doesn't show any sign of leaving him, wanting to continue her life as a family.
Coleen adds: "It's my decision .... do I love Wayne ... yes I do. If I didn't then I wouldn't be trying to make it work. I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don't want to live like that, I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that's what I want to do."
Some Facebook users thought the post was gratuitous, with one person commenting: "Shouldn't have to explain yourself to anyone! I am so grateful to know and be part of a family like yours you are an amazing strong women with a heart of gold and have amazing family values! Lots of love."
Another said: "I know it's all been well documented in the press etc and everyone will have an opinion but I find it so sad you feel like you have to justify decisions you are making for your life and your family. Life is tough. Stay strong xx".
Others believed it was a good decision on Coleen's part, with a third adding: "What a brave and honest statement to make Coleen. You are a wonderful person with a beautiful family and I admire you. I wish you all the very best and hope the future brings love, peace and happiness xxx".
