Dale Creegan to face charges over police murders
Dale Creegan will appear at Manchester Magistrates court this morning charged with the murders of two female police officers - PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes - who were lured to a hoax burglary call out in Mottram, then killed in a frenzied gun and grenade attack on Tuesday.
Nazir Afzal, the Crown Prosecution Service's chief prosecutor for North West England, speaking at a news conference, announced Creegan is also charged with killing David Short, 46, and his 23-year-old son Mark, who died in separate attacks earlier this year.
A second man, named as Stephen Garvey, was also arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. Police have been given extra time to question him, and have until Saturday, to either charge him or release him. The death of these two police officers has shocked the nation and tributes continue to pour in for these two very dedicated officers.
