Overview
Delhi Daredevils are one of the form teams in the tournament at the moment having won four of their last five games. They have risen up the table and are currently in second place just two points behind the Gujarat Lions with two games in hand over the leaders. They are coming into this game on the back of a thumping victory over Suresh Raina's table toppers and will be confident playing in front of their home fans.
Quinton de Kock has been a regular match winner for the Daredevils this season, with some important contributions coming from the entire squad at different times. Zaheer Khan has led the team well, while Rahul Dravid has clearly made a difference to the team on and off the pitch.
The Pune Supergiants, meanwhile, are struggling to string together wins this season and are currently placed sixth with just four points from eight games. The first time MS Dhoni has struggled in the IPL after claiming regular success with his previous – now defunct – franchise the Chennai Super Kings.
The new entrants to the IPL have also been crippled by injuries to their foreign players with Kevin Pieterson, Faf du Plessis, Steven Smith and Mitchell Marsh all withdrawing from the tournament due to various knocks.
