Did Dakota Johnson and Matthew Hitt break up over Fifty Shades Of Grey?

Dakota Johnson and boyfriend Matthew Hitt have apparently ended their relationship, a report revealed. The 26-year-old actress and 29-year-old musician had been dating for almost two years since 2014 before calling it quits.

The How To Be Single star began dating the lead singer and guitarist for the indie band The Drowners in July 2014 before breaking up in early 2015 only to reunite a few months later.

"Dakota and Matthew have dated on-and-off for the past two years," a source close to the couple told Just Jared. "They didn't get a chance to see much of each other recently because their work schedules didn't align. She's been up in Vancouver shooting the Fifty Shades trilogy."

Back in 2015 when the two split for a while, a source told US Weekly that Hitt was not comfortable with Johnson's life in reference to her role in Fifty Shades Of Grey. "Her life was getting too crazy and it wasn't something that he wanted to be a part of."

Johnson, the daughter of Hollywood icons Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, is currently busy filming the sequel of the movie Fifty Shades Darker, in which she reprises her role as Anastasia Steel opposite Jamie Dornan, who plays Christian Grey.

Prior to the release of the first film, Johnson was concerned about her parents watching the sexually explicit movie but it looks likes she is more comfortable now, at least with her mother. In April, Griffith visited her daughter on the sets of the sequel but luckily it happened to be a day they were shooting an emotional scene and not one of those BDSM ones.
