Discover Dogs: London's biggest dog event attended by over 3,000 pooches
Over 3000 dogs will attend the festival and take part with the chance to compete and win awards.
The Eukanuba Discover Dogs event took place this weekend from 22-23 October 2016 . The event saw almost 30,000 spectators and around 3,000 dogs. Canine lovers at the event were able to buy dogs, watch events and express their love of man's best friend. The event will showcase some of the most talented dogs in the UK.
The event hosted more than 200 breeds of dogs including popular breeds such as the Labrador retriever and English Springer Spaniel. Classic breeds were also present including the Greyhound and the standard poodle. Additionally, the trendy pug will also take part, and as will the Daschsund.
Dog festivals are extremely popular in the UK. The Kennel club states that it recognises 215 types of dog breeds. As the show, which is the biggest in the world, the dogs will be able to compete for a place in the Crufts 2017 competition which will occur on the 9-12th March in 2017.
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: "Not only does the event have a massive cute factor, but it also helps people to make responsible choices when buying a dog and about caring for, training and living with dogs too.
"There are thousands of dogs that come to breed rescue centres every year, simply because their owners are no longer able to cope.
"We have more information at our fingertips than ever before, but people continue to buy dogs on a whim because of how the dog looks or because it is simply seen to be the latest trend thanks to celebrity endorsement.
"Eukanuba Discover Dogs helps people to learn more about dogs and to make sensible choices when it comes to getting a dog."
