Drake was given a hero's welcome in his native Canada on 25 November as the Young Money rapper arrived to watch the Toronto Raptors, the country's only NBA team, play the Cleveland Cavaliers. Dubbed Drake Night, the rapper's annual visit to the game is never a dull moment and this year was no different, with plenty of amusing highlights.

Unfortunately for the rapper, it was a bittersweet evening as the Raptors lost to the Cavaliers 103-99. In celebration of Drake Night, IBTimes UK rounds up the best moments from the event...

Hotline Bling dance moves

It would just be unacceptable if Hotline Bling was not played in Drake's presence. The Jumpman rapper could not resist whipping out his infamous dance moves when the song played in the arena, making for some interesting memes.

Date night with mum

Aside from Serena Williams, there is of course another special woman in Drake's life: the rapper brought his doting mother Sandi aka Sandra to sit with him courtside.

LeBron James vs cheerleaders

It was both an awkward and hilarious moment when the Toronto Raptors cheerleading squad took over the court to perform their routine. Rather than let the dancers do their thing, James and his fellow Cleveland Cavaliers players ran on to the court to simply stand there.

OVO freebies for everyone

Those with tickets to the big game received more than they had expected, with a T-shirt from Drake's OVO brand draped over each seat. The Raptors also unveiled their gold and black OVO-inspired uniform, while the team gifted Drake with a customised jacket.

Drake announces starters in typical Drake manner

The Grammy winner had the pleasure of introducing the starters before the game and could not help injecting a bit of his famous humour into the announcements.
