A developer diary with Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto followed, detailing his concept for the Star Fox series and some of the features coming to the Wii U game and its GamePad functionality.
Among the new features is the ability to turn Fox McCloud's famous Arwing starfighter into different vehicles - a walker, which was in Star Fox 2, a helicopter-like Gyrowing and the larger Landmaster tank.

Skirmishes take place on varied landscapes: open fields, cityscapes, a desert canyon and of course in space.
Star Fox was revealed by Nintendo at E3 last year with Miyamoto demoing a proof-of-concept behind closed doors. At The Game Awards in December - during a demo of The Legend of Zelda for Wii U - it was revealed that Star Fox would be released in 2015.
