Eastenders' Newcomer Khali Best Axed from BBC Soap
National TV Awards' best newcomer is thought to have breached the BBC soap's code of conduct
Just a few months after being crowned newcomer at the National Television Awards, EastEnders star, Khali Best has been suspended from the popular BBC soap.
The actor, known to millions as Walford Mechanic Dexter Hartman, has disappointed bosses of the television show with behaviour backstage and outside of work.
While the exact details of his misdemeanor are being kept under wraps the 26-year-old, has reportedly broken the strict terms of his contract, believed to be worth £50,000 a year.
An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed: "Khali Best has been suspended from EastEnders for three months. We will not comment any further on this matter."
With the Lucy Beale murder plot in full swing and Dexter not currently involved, it is not thought that his absence will affect any major story lines.
This is not the first time a cast member has been disciplined in similar fashion.
Ricky Norwood who plays Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb, was suspended from the soap in April after being caught on video smoking drugs and engaging in a 'solo sex act'.
