Ed Sheeran on finding a soul mate: Singer wants to find love like his parents

Ed Sheeran has expressed his desire to find love like his parents and grandparents.

During an interview with the Mirror, the 24-year-old Thinking Out Loud crooner revealed he hopes to find a relationship as happy as his other family members.

"My parents are so in love it's ridiculous. I kind of look at it like pressure," he said.

"They've cracked it and my grandparents cracked it – but nowadays it's harder to find that. I hope to have kids," he added.

Sheeran further said that one of the best things about being successful was to look after his parents.

"Being able to really pay my parents – not just financially – but being able to give them the things they wouldn't have ever dreamed of..." he said. "Seeing them going off doing their thing is probably the best thing that's come out of my career. They're going around the world and for me to see that is great."

Sheeran broke up with girlfriend Athina Andrelos in March, after she reportedly told him to keep distance from American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift.

The Shake It Off singer paid tribute to Sheeran, during her acceptance speech at the 2015 Brit Awards, for all his help over the years.

"Honestly I know I wouldn't be up here if it wasn't for one of my best friends who took me to pubs and taught me how to make a good cup of tea and taught me everything I know about the UK," she told the audience. "I just want to say I love you Ed Sheeran," she added.
