American talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, the actress Portia De Rossi, are once again hit by reports that their marriage is in trouble.

According to In Touch magazine, the 41-year-old Ally McBeal star has enraged DeGeneres by filming the couple's arguments, with the risk of these becoming public.

A source told the magazine: "Portia secretly taped some of their arguments. She was drunk. Then she threatened to expose Ellen as controlling and manipulating."

The insiders revealed that DeGeneres reportedly "flew into a rage" when she discovered the recordings and then checked the Arrested Development actress's emails to make sure she did not send the clip to anyone.

The Oscar host has been married to the Australian-American actress for the last six years. However, there have been several reports since 2013 that the couple's marriage is on shaky grounds.

The same publication had previously claimed De Rossi checked into rehab for drug and alcohol treatment in May.

"Ellen is domineering and Portia is passive. Ellen always calls the shots, and Portia never complains," a source previously said. "She felt like a prisoner in her own home. She went from sipping white wine occasionally to drinking at least a bottle or more a day and topping it off with a pill. It got to the point where she was out of it four nights a week. They've had vicious shouting matches — with both of them yelling cruel, soul-crushing put-downs that they both deeply regretted."

However, the two want to make their relationship work.

"Portia going to rehab was the first step in saving their marriage," an insider said. "They want their marriage to work more than anything."
