Emily has spoken out about her brief romance with Harry Styles for the first time.

Following months of speculation, Emily Atack has finally admitted to having a fling with One Direction star Harry Styles last year.

The Inbetweeners actress made the confession in an interview with Reveal magazine, confessing that it was 'fun' and never anything serious.

The 23-year-old, who also appeared on Dancing on Ice, insisted she wanted to put the rumours to bed and also revealed she was no longer in contact with the heart-throb.

"We were never boyfriend and girlfriend, " Atack said. "I think that's the first time I've ever admitted to what it was, because I've always just shrugged it off before."

Opening up about their dalliance for the first time she continued: "But I think it's best to clear it up. So, yeah, we had a short-lived thing that was just a bit of fun. Then we went off in our opposite directions.

"Harry and I had a laugh. It was brief, but fun, and then we moved on. We haven't spoken in a while - he's one of the most famous people in the world now."

Styles, who has also been linked to British model Cara Delevingne, Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly and model Kara Rose Marshall in recent months, quickly moved on from Atack by dating US singer Taylor Swift at the end of 2012. But that whirlwind romance quickly fizzled out and he broke up with the I Knew You Were Trouble songstress in January 2013, while on holiday in the Caribbean.

But despite his Lothario reputation, Styles recently revealed he had only slept with two people in his life telling GQ magazine: "[I've slept with] two people. I've only ever had sex with two people. That's my answer. Read from it what you will!"
