Essex man charged with murder after woman stabbed near horse sanctuary
A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder following the stabbing of a young woman in Essex.
Detectives remain at the scene where the 21-year-old, named in reports as Laura Davies, was attacked.
The attack took place just before 8.15pm on Friday near a horse sanctuary in Wat Tyler Park, Pitsea, east of Basildon.
Jordan Taylor, of Churchill Avenue, Basildon, was charged on Saturday night and will appear at Basildon Magistrates Court on Monday.
A 20-year-old man from Basildon, who was also undergoing police questioning, has been freed without charge.
Essex police have not formally confirmed the identity of the victim. They said a post-mortem examination showed she died from multiple stab wounds.
She was flown to hospital and died several hours later.
