Fallout 4: Bethesda advises PC gamers to refrain from using console commands
Bethesda Studios, the brains behind the hugely popular Fallout 4 PC and console game, has warned gamers against using console commands. The caution is applicable specifically to PC gamers and follows the discovery of a new gun and a secret developer room, using PC console commands.
Replying to a Fallout loyalist via Twitter, Bethesda's Vice-President for PR and Marketing Pete Hines said using console commands on PCs was not recommended. He also ruled out the possibility of introducing mods on gaming consoles.
Hines added that using console commands leads to messing up game saves. He was of the opinion that PC gamers would find it difficult to manage game saves considering the overall length of Fallout 4. Nonetheless, there are multiple PC console commands detected by gamers and currently available that unlock numerous in-game aspects.
