Fans freak out over Macaulay Culkin's dramatic transformation: 'I wouldn't mind being Home Alone'
Actor sparked concerns after photos surfaced in 2012 showed him worryingly gaunt.
He was one of the most loved child actors and won hearts as the young and mischievous Kevin McCallister in 1991 hit Home Alone. But over the years Hollywood actor Macaulay Culkin underwent quite a transformation – even wearing a worryingly gaunt appearance in photos that surfaced in 2012.
However, those days might finally be over as the 36-year-old star recently debuted a brand new look, trading his long locks and rugged face for a clean-shaved style.
So much so that Culkin's dramatic transformation – donning a cropped hairstyle and casual attire – is now being dubbed as the makeover of the year. And like always, ecstatic fans of the Home Along star have taken to Twitter to swoon over the "refreshed and renewed" Culkin of 2017.
"May we all be as refreshed and renewed as 2017 Macaulay Culkin," one fan tweeted, while other joined him in unison.
"Why is nobody talking about Macaulay Culkin? Look how much younger and healthier he's looking!" a Twitter user wrote comparing the actor's changed appearance in the past few years.
Another admirer shared, "Where are all those who made fun of Mac? He's ready to make all the girl fall in love again. #MacaulayCulkin," along with a flame emoji.
"If Macaulay Culkin can have a Glo Up at the age of 36, then there's hope for me yet," a second user joked, as someone else added, "Wow, 2017 Macaulay Culkin looks pretty damn good. I wouldn't mind being Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York with him."
Culkin's refreshing transformation comes as a pleasant surprise to fans, who were heartbroken to see their favourite star looking frail and sunken in three-year-old photos. In fact, the buzz was that the actor was heavily using drugs until Culkin dismissed them as a means to "shift papers".
"I was not pounding six grand of heroin every month or something," he told The Guardian.
