Fifty Shades Of Grey to be given Scary Movie treatment by Marlon Wayans
He gave us Scary Movie and A Haunted House and now actor and producer Marlon Wayans has announced that a parody of Fifty Shades Of Grey is in the works.
In an official statement, the 42-year-old Hollywood star confirmed that he has taken on the challenge of reworking the film adaption of EL James's S&M trilogy for a new audience.
The project, entitled Fifty Shades Of Black, will be a comedy co-written by and starring the White Chicks actor. Wayans is teaming up with filmmaker Rick Alvarez once again for the forthcoming movie.
"We're excited to be back in business with IM Global doing our comedic remix of this movie. Sex and comedy go hand-in-hand and I'm looking forward to having fun with this project," he said.
"It's amazing when a film of this caliber comes along begging to be made fun of. I'm really happy to be doing what I love with people I love to do it with. That double entendre was intentional."
The father-of-two also took to Instagram to share the news with fans. Alongside a snap of him wearing a suit with his trousers at his ankles he wrote: "Check it out! Just announced my next movie FIFTY SHADES OF BLACK coming soon."
Considering that Fifty Shades Of Grey received disappointing reviews following its release in February, it wouldn't be surprising if Wayans's reimagining proves more popular with fans.
Fifty Shades Of Black is slated for an early 2016 release.
Meanwhile, Universal Pictures has recently revealed that Niall Leonard, husband of author EL James, has been hired to write the script for Fifty Shades Darker – the second part of the BDSM-themed movie series, which is scheduled to premiere in February 2017.
