Former Playboy Model Brandi Brandt Accused of Cocaine Smuggling Charges
A former Playboy model has been extradited from the US to Australia to face drug trafficking charges.
Brandi Brandt, 45, and Playmate of the Month for October 1987, appeared in court in Sydney to face to charges after being flown from California.
Brandt, the former wife of Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx, did not apply for bail or enter a plea. She was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court next in December.
She is accused of being involved in a group who smuggled smuggling cocaine Qantas and United Airlines planes from California to Sydney. The drugs, which were hidden in packages, were then alleged to have been picked up employees of an airline catering company.
Brandt is accused of conspiring with Wayne Cleveland and Craig Nicholson to import cocaine between July and December 2007 at Sydney airport.
She is also accused of handling more than £75,000 ($120,000) in proceeds from criminal activity between July and November of the same year.
A former boyfriend of Brandt, motorcycle stuntman Rusty Setser, has already been extradited to Sydney.
