Furious WWE fans want Vince McMahon to 'fire JBL' over alleged bullying incident
Former WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts accuses John 'Bradshaw' Layfield of bullying him at the company.
WWE fans are furious with John "Bradshaw" Layfield aka JBL after former ring announcer Justin Roberts accused the veteran wrestler of bullying him while he was with the entertainment company.
Roberts in his new book titled Best Seat In The House: Your Backstage Pass Through My WWE Journey, has accused JBL of being a bully between 2003-04, according to Cage Side Seats.
Roberts revealed one of the alleged incidents on Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) and claimed that his passport was stolen and never returned to him. He accused JBL of being the mastermind behind the incident.
"He was like the leader, and he pretty much had a cabinet, just like on TV. They followed him and did what he asked. It was him vs. 'the new guys'. He had taken my passport out of my bag, and the next tour I guarded it with my life. On the flight back, Orlando Jordan told me he would watch my back and I should go to the gift shop. I didn't take his advice," Roberts said, as quoted by Inquisitr.
Roberts in an interview with Deadspin further opened up about the incident and noted that he was unable to board a plane at Manchester airport. He said he was allowed to return to the US after he took a fight to London and got a new passport from the US embassy.
"Once I got a new passport, I took the train to the airport, and eventually got a flight back. I traveled from London to Boston, Boston to Phoenix, then drove to Phoenix to Tuscon for TV for SmackDown."
Former WWE Intercontinental and ECW tag team champion John Morrison also spoke about the alleged incident with Deadspin. He said that he and his former tag team partner Joey Mercury were instructed to steal Roberts' passport, but they chose not to do so.
"I wouldn't have appreciated someone doing that to me, especially someone I considered a peer," Morrison, who currently is at Lucha Underground as Johnny Mundo, explained.
However, JBL said that he would not be addressing bullying rumours and added that Robert's passport could have been taking by someone in the crew.
"I won't answer Net rumors-but I didn't take Justin Roberts passport. Could have been anyone/he was hated by the whole crew. He's an idiot," he wrote on Twitter.
