George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin Arrive in Venice Ahead of their Extravagant Wedding
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin have arrived in Venice to prepare for their wedding, which is set to take place this weekend in extravagant style.
The 53-year-old Gravity star has reportedly spent a long time getting ready for the big day with human rights lawyer fiancée Alamuddin, 36, to ensure they have a wonderful time.
A host of celebrities have been spotted jetting into the Italian city ahead of the pair's lavish nupitals, including Matt Damon and supermodel Cindy Crawford.
Other famous wedding guests are said to include recently married Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, chat show host Ellen and U2's Bono.
The reception will reportedly be held in two grandiose hotels and is expected to be "Hollywood" all the way, with guests treated to an elaborate champagne and truffles reception on arrival.
In order to ensure the day is perfect, the venues have undergone a full makeover to add special touches for the couple.
The 24-room, seven-star Aman Canal Grande in the picturesque Palazzo Papadopoli is the rumoured setting for the reception, while the couple are also believed to have taken over the 79-room Hotel Cipriani.
According to Us Weekly, Cipriani is being fitted with crystal chandeliers and lavish white gold place settings, with a hefty price-tag to rival Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's estimated $12m (£7.4m) wedding that took place earlier this year.
It is thought the guests will be ferried from the Hotel Cipriano to the Aman Resort in a fleet of white Rolls Royces, while the police will reportedly block off the entire road for wedding guests to be transported with ease.
