Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn puts Tom Holland's Spidey in same league as Heath Ledger's Joker
Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn has tweeted yet again, and this time he has put Tom Holland's yet-to-be-seen take on Spider-Man in the same league as Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man and Heath Ledger's Joker. Now we are all confident that Marvel is going to present the rebooted Spidey in a fantastic new way, but could this be a case of "a little too much, too soon" perhaps?
Nearly every Marvel Studios director currently working on an active project has already seen Civil War (Ant-Man's Peyton Reed has seen it twice) and apparently Holland's Spider-Man was one of Gunn's favourite aspects of the film.
So is there a chance where Holland could beat Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire on the list of greatest Spider-Man portrayals? Well, only time will tell. But, several fans are talking about Spidey's look and costume in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It's clearly closer to the comic books than earlier iterations, although fans feel it might be a bit plain and dull as compared to the rest of The Avengers (except The Hulk, maybe). Check out Spidey as he swings by in the end of the new Captain America: Civil War trailer.
Marvel's Spider-Man will be seen first in Captain America: Civil War which opens on 6 May 2016 ahead of his standalone film, which releases on 7 July 2017.
