Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton plan to tie the knot in 'traditional' summer wedding
It was previously reported that the couple were planning to get hitched by the "end of the year".
Rumours of Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's marriage plans have been doing the rounds ever since the two started dating after meeting on the set of the Voice in 2015. Now, it has been reported that the God Gave Me You singer and the Hollaback Girl hit-maker are planning to tie the knot in a "traditional" summer wedding.
"Gwen [Stefani] and Blake [Shelton] do want to get married, but they want to wait and do it properly," a source told HollywoodLife. "Both want to wait until next summer to get married. Because this is the second marriage for both, they would prefer to just do a quickie low key Las Vegas thing, but Gwen feels like they need to go the traditional route because of her children."
The latest news comes on the heels of a previous report that claimed the 40-year-old country singer and the 47-year-old songstress were planning to get hitched by the "end of the year in a backyard ceremony".
"They want to get married before the end of the year," a source close to Shelton previously told Us Weekly, "They are both very, very happy. Blake is having the time of his life with Gwen and feels so comfortable around her."
At that time, it was also reported that Stefani had hired celebrity wedding planner Jerri Woolworth to organise the ceremony.
"Gwen has said they both want something more low-key than their first weddings," another source had told the magazine. "It would likely be at Blake's ranch [in Oklahoma] or in the backyard. Gwen doesn't really care, she is just in love with Blake and their life together."
Stefani has three children – Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo – from musician Gavin Rossdale, whom she split from after 13 years of marriage in August 2015. Shelton also separated from singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert after four years of marriage in July 2015.
