A woman who stripped off her clothes after crashing her car and danced naked on top of a lorry, caused part of a Houston-area highway to be closed on 7 March. A hook and ladder fire engine was deployed to pluck the woman to safety from the top of the HGV, as television helicopters hovered above Highway 290 to film her antics.

Police said she is believed to have had two accidents before slamming her car into a concrete barrier on the highway. The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital for physical and mental evaluation, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.

"She was talking about all sorts of things, Wall Street, the CIA, aliens and all types of things," Thomas Gilliland from the Harris County Sheriff's office said.
