How to Install CyanogenMod Apps on Any Android Device Without Rooting
The CyanogenMod is arguably the most widely celebrated custom ROM for Android which is known for its top-notch performance with an imposing fan base.
Android users often shy away from installing custom ROMs owing to risks such as warranty issues with rooting and potentially bricking their device with incompatible kernels.
Such risks are no longer there, as CyanogenMod apps can now be installed via a new tool called "CM Apps", which does not require your device to be rooted.
CM Apps brings a handful of feature-rich apps such as Apollo (a music player), Clock widget, DSP Manager (an audio enhancing tool), Sound Recorder, Customisable Trebuchet launcher and more.
The CM Apps is not a creation of Cyanogen team, but it is developed by some third-party Android developers. It brings some signature apps that are synonymous with the original CyanogenMod 11 ROM.
Here is the complete list of apps that are ported into CM Apps:
- Apollo
- Clock widget
- DSP Manager
- File Manager
- Sound Recorder
- Calculator
- Torch
- Trebuchet
- Wallpapers
Note: Both the CM Apps software and the apps bundled in it are free to use.
