I'm A Celeb viewers rejoice as Dennis Wise gets the boot: 'Best thing I have ever seen'
The former Chelsea star blamed hunger pains for his foul moods.
After coming under fire for bullying and belittling fellow contestant Iain Lee, Dennis Wise has now been evicted from I'm A Celebrity – and fans are thrilled over the news.
Wise was eliminated from the show last night (7 December) after receiving the lowest number of audience votes.
The ex Chelsea midfielder has been accused of bullying Lee after he consistently claimed that the radio presenter had failed in previous Bushtucker Trials.
Wise started making the accusations when Lee stepped forward to perform the Tutankha-Doom trial, where a campmate had to zigzag their way through a network of underground tunnels filled with critters.
"My only problem and I'll be honest with you Iain, is that you've said 'Get Me Out Of Here' twice and what I don't want to do is have no dinner," he had stated to Lee.
44-year-old Lee, who suffers from depression and anxiety, later confessed during the Bush Telegraph that he felt "humiliated" by Wise's insensitive remarks.
In the last episode, the former footballer caught more flak when he admitted to Amir Khan and Jamie Lomas that he would go "f***ing apes**t" if Lee failed to win any stars for the camp as he went on to perform a task at The Deadly Departure Lounge.
During his exit interview, Wise explained that in recent weeks, hunger had gotten the better of him. This, he said, was the reason he was mostly in a foul mood during the camp and also why he was concerned about Lee participating in the trials.
The 50-year-old said: "It was only because he said 'Get Me Out Of Here' twice.
"At the first trial you're not worried but then when they haven't done it twice, you begin to think, 'We do need to eat.'"
Kezia Dugdale, who was the second campmate to be eliminated, also came out in support of Wise, saying that lack of food had made him act out.
Speaking on Extra Camp, Dugdale said: "Dennis is a lovely guy but of all the people left in there I think he is the one struggling with the food the most now because he is so skinny.
"He's quite OCD about food whereas Toff will eat every last drop out of everyone else's tin, Dennis won't put it in his mouth unless he has washed it himself.
"He's struggling food wise in there and that's probably why the hanger is coming out."
However, fans of the show were having none of this and took to Twitter to celebrate Wise's exit. Here are some of the best reactions:
