Inbetweeners' Jay Applies to be Crystal Palace Manager
See Jay's CV as written by star James Buckley
Inbetweeners star James Buckley has applied to become the new Crystal Palace manager as his foul-mouthed character Jay Cartwright.
He posted the CV on Twitter, directing it toward the football club's chairman Steve Parish, who duly replied
His "work history" includes boasts that he won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup three times during his year as Manchester United boss, also winning Manager of the Month 27 times.
Jay also claims to have started a business selling stereos with former England defender Rio Ferdinand and slept with all his secretaries.
His education lists a year spent in a balloon with Richard Branson: "He taught me everything about making money and managing people etc".
Skills include the ability to "drink more than 10 pints of cider and still drive safely".
Buckley can currently be seen as Jay in comedy sequel The Inbetweeners 2, which has been a big success at the UK box office, making £22.5 million after two weeks in the charts.
Crystal Palace have been without a manager since Tony Pulis - who saved the club from near-certain relegation last season and won Manager of the Year for his efforts - left the club only two days before the Premier League season kicked off.
Palace have lost both of their games so far, a narrow loss to Arsenal in which they played admirably under caretaker boss Keith Millen, and a heavier 3-1 loss to West Ham this past weekend. Neil Warnock, Steve Clarke and Neil Lennon are currently among the frontrunners to take the Palace job, with Parish admitting he wants to make an announcement soon.
