Irish footballer Sean St Ledger denies Taylor Swift romance: 'She's dating Calvin Harris'
Irish footballer Sean St Ledger has denied rumours that he is dating Shake It Off songstress Taylor Swift, pointing out that she is now romancing DJ Calvin Harris.
The former Ipswich defender told Ireland's RTE that he may invite Swift, 25, to one of his future football games, sparking speculation that they were secretly dating.
However, St Ledger shot down the rumours via Twitter, writing:
The pop star was pictured with the sports star on New Year's Eve where they briefly met at a party.
In his interview with the Irish network, the Orlando City player said: "I'm sitting on the fence. She's not been to a game, as of yet. I'm thinking that she might come to one of the New York ones. We'll see."
The Blank Space singer's romance with Harris, 31, has been hotting up in recent weeks with the Scottish DJ pictured leaving her Los Angeles home on the morning of 3 April.
The musicians had enjoyed an evening at a Haim gig in West Hollywood the previous evening and were seen holding hands. In March, the rumoured love birds were spotted by fans on a shopping trip in Nashville and they are said to have enjoyed a string of dates since February when they met at a BRIT Awards after-party in London.
After a number of high-profile relationships with the likes of Harry Styles and John Mayer, Swift is reportedly through with dating "toxic" men and believes her romance with Blame hitmaker Harris could get serious.
A source told Heat magazine: "Taylor once thought she loved Harry, but since getting to know Calvin, she's realised that Harry was never really more than a crush. The relationship was not nearly as serious as she thought it was at the time.
"Taylor was more than happy to delete Harry's number. Calvin's made her realise that boys like Harry are toxic for her and given her the confidence to cut him out of her life for good. She's determined to show Calvin she's serious about him and wants him to feel as secure as she does."
