Janet Jackson debuts baby bump after confirming pregnancy at age 50
Baby will be first child for Jackson and her husband of four years Wissam Al Mana.
Congratulations are in order for Janet Jackson who has confirmed she is pregnant with her first child. The Rhythm Nation singer has officially debuted her baby bump in a photo spread for People magazine and reveals how she and her husband Wissam Al Mana are feeling about their impending arrival.
In the candid photo, Jackson, 50, looks off into the distance and cradles her growing baby bump while smiling. Speaking to the publication, the iconic singer said: "We thank God for our blessing."
A source also revealed how Jackson's pregnancy has progressed over the last few months and told the publication: "She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well. She actually feels very good about everything."
It is not known exactly how far along Jackson is in her pregnancy but the Doesn't Really Matter singer announced in April that she was postponing the rest of her Unbreakable tour shows to focus on starting a family with Al Mana, whom she married in 2012.
In a video shared on Twitter, Jackson said at the time: "We are in the second leg of the tour and there's been a sudden change and I thought it was important you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning a family so I'm going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can, try and understand it's important that I do this now, I have to rest up, doctor's orders, but I have not forgotten about you, I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can."
Jackson, younger sister of the late Michael Jackson, has since kept a low profile but she was spotted shopping around London in September. Rumours have circulated that Jackson is using a surrogate to carry the baby but her brother Tito Jackson denied these claims to SiriusXM radio station. He added: "She's doing very well. She's taking it easy. As you know, she is off tour, protecting her health."
