Jay Sean and wife Thara Natalie welcomed their baby girl Ayva Loveen Kaur Jhooti on 13 December.

British-Indian Sean announced the news on his Facebook account and posted a collage of images of the newborn.

"Yuuuuup! I'm a daddy!!!!! Meet our lil baby girl, Ayva. She was born on the 13th December, weighing in at 6pounds 7ounces," wrote the 32-year-old singer-rapper.

"It was the most incredible moment of my life seeing her enter this world. Wifey @tharanatalie (who was unbelievably strong and composed thru it all btw- yogamommy!!) had a music playlist for her delivery - a mixture of diff artists and some of her fav songs - (including mine!) Would u believe of all the songs on the playlist she was born to daddy's song!!?!!! She was born to "Luckiest Man". And of course - that I am! Love this little one to bits," he went on.

"Ayva Loveen Kaur Jhooti is her full name. Look forward to bringing her along on the road so u can meet her #imadad #butistillfeellikeakidmyself #shesalreadymorematurethanmeandshesonly3daysold."

Australian professional rugby league footballer Luke Brooks congratulated the new parents.

"CONGRATS to my bro @jaysean and the most busy lady in the world @TharaNatalie on their new born baby girl! First time parents!" he tweeted.

Sean, whose real names is Kamaljit Singh Jhooti, had revealed in September that he was going to be a father, by sharing a scan.

"Well here it is! The new addition to the fam! As some of you may now know, me and the wifey @tharanatalie are expecting a Lil Sheezy ....or Sheezette!!" he posted, "Here's the first pic of the little one!! Thnks for all the love and well wishes on twitter."

The Mars singer has been private about his personal life and has kept his marriage to Natalie mostly out of the spotlight. The two first met in 2007 when they collaborated on the song Murder and also for his second album My Own Way in 2008.
