Jerusalem women - and men - take to the streets in SlutWalk protest (Graphic Images)

Several hundred women - and men - marched through Jerusalem in a SlutWalk to protest against a rising tide of sexual violence in Israel and around the world.

Organisers wrote on their Facebook page: "When was the last time you were called a slut? We are here to protest against the norm in which women cannot feel safe in the public area," attacking what they described as "victim shaming."

Even in this most holy of cities where tempers are easily lost, the protesters raised only a few eyebrows. The police reported that there were only minor incidents of disturbance and a few heckles as protesters were escorted by a group of officers in the searing heat.​
