Justin Bieber deletes Instagram account after trading barbs with Selena Gomez over rumoured flame Sofia Richie
The war of words between the former couple ignited after Gomez slammed Bieber for lashing out at his fans for the hate comments Richie received.
Justin Bieber has deleted his Instagram account after trading barbs with former girlfriend Selena Gomez on Instagram on 14 August. The Sorry singer had threatened to make his profile private after his fans targeted his rumoured girlfriend Sofia Richie with hate comments.
Bieber went on a public outburst on 13 August when fans spewed hate comments on the younger daughter of Lionel Richie after the 22-year-old singer shared some black and white photos with the 17-year-old model on Instagram.
"I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like," Bieber captioned one of the photos. (via The Daily Mail)
Soon after Bieber lashed out at his fans, the Same Old Love singer took to Instagram to tell her former boyfriend if he can't handle the hate comments he should not post photos of his "girlfriend".
"If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol — it should be special between you two only. Don't be mad at your fans. They love you," the 24-year-old singer replied to Bieber's comment.
However, in response to the songstress, Bieber wrote: "It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love. I'm not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u all can be kind to my friends and eachother. And yes I love my beliebers (sic)," he said.
The duo then accused each other of cheating when they were a couple from 2010 to 2014.
"Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. All love," the American actress and singer wrote.
Gomez then shared a collage of photos with her fans and wrote: "My whole life. You matter most. Thank you letting me do what I love every day."
