Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel welcome a baby boy
Justin Timberlake and wife Jessica Biel are the proud parents of a baby boy.
The new parents welcomed their first child who has been named Silas Randall Timberlake.
The couple's rep confirmed the news of the new arrival, telling People magazine that the 34-year-old singer is "ecstatic" at becoming a first-time father and both mother and baby are doing well.
The Suit and Tie singer's mother Lynn Harless was one of the first to congratulate the couple on Twitter.
"My amazing son and his beautiful wife have given us the most precious gift in the world! Silas Randall Timberlake! Named after my father and my son! Life is beautiful and we couldn't be happier! God bless you all and thanks for all the congrats!," she tweeted.
In a second tweet the elated new grandmother added that her "face hurts from smiling so much".
Randall is the name of Justin's father and is also the singer's own middle name.
The couple married in Italy in October 2012 after dating on and off for five years. They marked their second anniversary with a trip to New Zealand.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in April 2013 the singer, who previously dated Britney Spears and Caermon Diaz, opened up about his relationship with Biel saying: "It's nice to marry your best friend. It suits me.
"Every once in a while I can catch a glimpse of her when she doesn't see me looking, and I have this moment where I'm like, 'If you never make a good decision...if you only make bad decisions for the rest of your life. You made one really good decision.' "
Timberlake confirmed the pregnancy in January after months of keeping the news under wraps.
On the singer's 34th birthday he shared a photo of him kissing his wife's baby belly with the caption: "Thank you EVERYONE for the Bday wishes! This year, I'm getting the GREATEST GIFT EVER. CAN'T WAIT."
The couple chose to wait until their baby's arrival to find out the sex.
Jessica continued to work through her pregnancy and both stars in and produces The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, which is due for release in 2016.
