Kate Middleton's Love of Alexander McQueen Helps Boosts Designer's Profits
Kate Middleton has been credited for helping boost Alexander McQueen's profits by 27 per cent.
The Duchess of Cambridge, who wore a lace wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen when she married Prince William, is said to have increased the brand's global appeal.
The fashion house, now headed by Burton as creative director, announced a profit of £5 million and sales of £41 million for the year 2011, from stores in Britain, the US and Italy and the US alone.
These healthy profits have now put McQueen ahead of British fashion rival, Stella McCartney.
Since her nuptials Kate has stepped out multiple times in McQueen designs.
The brunette beauty recently chose an elegant floor length Alexander McQueen gown during her and Williams's trip to Malaysia for their Asia tour.#
Gold Hibiscus floral prints on the outer layer of the dress paid tribute to the country's national flower.
