Katy Perry to Headline 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show
Pop superstar Katy Perry is set to perform at the 2015 Super Bowl halftime show.
According to Billboard, the 29-year-old singer has been handpicked by the NFL to take on the biggest show on earth in February.
The Roar hitmaker's name was first thrown into the mix along with Rihanna and Coldplay back in August, but according to insiders she has come out on top.
She will join famous names including Madonna, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé and Bruno Mars who have previously performed on the iconic stage.
Super Bowl XLIX will be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.
News of Perry's impressive gig comes weeks after the Dark Horse songstress scored an impressive seven nominations, including the coveted best video and best song awards, for this year's MTV Europe Music Awards.
Perry will go head-to-head with Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift in the best female category and she has also been nominated for the best look award.
Not only is she the most popular person on Twitter (58.1 followers) she is also the first female artist to have five No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles from the same album.
