Overview
Kei Nishikori will look for an easier game in the second round when he faces Russian Andrey Kuznetsov on 25 May. The world number six had to not only battle his opponent Simone Bolelli but also the weather as rain interrupted play frequently.
He cruised to a 6-1, 7-5, 6-3 victory and his performance was solid if not spectacular. The Japanese star is the favourite to progress to the next round and it is highly unlikely he will falter here.
World number 40 Andrey Kuznetsov was expected to be one of the superstars of the game as a youngster, but that has not happened as yet. The 25-year-old though has shown glimpses of his talent and is currently enjoying his best year on the ATP circuit winning 19 matches so far.
He has defeated players such as Stan Wawrinka in the past and should not be taken lightly considering his obvious talents on the court.
Betting odds (betfair)

- Andrey Kuznetsov to win: 15/2
Head-to-head
The duo have faced each other only once in the past, way back in 2010 in the round of 32 of the Eastbourne Open. Nishikori retired due to injury, which gave the Russian the win.
