An insider said: "There are a lot of big names releasing music at that time, but she's absolutely the number one name we are trying to secure.

"She needs her next album to be a success in the UK and a performance on ITV in front of 12 million people would be the best platform."

The Marin County Sheriff's Office said the actor-comedian appears to have committed 'suicide due to asphyxia.

News of his tragic death rocked Hollywood with stars from across the globe paying tribute to the Mrs Doubtfire star.

Steve Martin said he was "stunned by the loss of Robin Williams, mensch, great talent, acting partner, genuine soul"

And President Obama issued a statement describing the Good Will Hunting star as "one of a kind".
