Manchester United 4-1 Fenerbahce, Paul Pogba's brace, RVP scores against Red Devils: Twitter reactions
Robin van Persie scored for Fenerbahce against his former club Manchester United.
Manchester United registered a comfortable 4-1 win over Fenerbahce in the Europa League clash at Old Trafford on Thursday (20 October). The France international duo of Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial were the stars of the match for the Red Devils.
Jose Mourinho's side dominated the first half and after the half hour mark, Juan Mata was brought down inside the box. Pogba stepped ahead of Wayne Rooney to take the penalty and the ex-Juventus man made no mistake to give his side the much needed lead.
Martial was also brought down inside the box and he decided to take the penalty and was successful in converting it. United went into the break with a 3-0 lead, courtesy to Pogba's first goal from an open play since rejoining them earlier in the summer. Jesse Lingard also scored a goal in the second half to get his first goal in the European competition.
The clash saw Robin van Persie play against United for the first time since leaving the Premier League giants for the Turkish club last summer. The Dutchman managed to get his name on the scoresheet and was also received well by fans at Old Trafford.
