Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira has admitted that extending his loan stay at Valencia one more season would be a "positive option" in order to continue his development.

The 21-year-old midfielder moved to the La Liga side on deadline day after having already spent the previous campaign at Granada.

The Belgium-born Brazilian has since played an important role in Valencia's impressive start to the campaign, with Los Che second in the table, only four points behind Barcelona and four ahead of Real Madrid.

Pereira has already made 10 appearances under Marcelino Garcia Toral, including four as a starter in La Liga and another one in the Copa del Rey.

The United loanee has needed little time to adapt to Marcelino's style, having scored one goal and provided three assists, including two in the last two victories over Alaves (2-1) and Leganes (3-0).

Fellow loanee Paris Gonçalo Guedes is also proving to be a revelation during the opening stages of the season and there is thus a big question mark over whether Valencia will manage to keep both the Paris Saint-Germain winger and Pereira ahead of next season.

Asked about it during a long interview with Super Deporte, the United midfielder replied: "For the way Guedes is playing it is going to be difficult because... but Valencia are a very big side. I think that, as we are now, everyone want to stay here. Everything is going very well, the whole squad is happy here. We want to keep this, I think everyone want to stay here."

Pressed specifically if he would like to stay at Valencia ahead of next season, the United loanee insisted: "Sure, it's a very good option for me, it would be positive. I'm happy at Valencia CF."

It has been suggested in recent weeks that Jose Mourinho was considering bringing Pereira to Old Trafford in January as United included had an option to recall him at mid-season as part of the loan agreement.

However, Pereira hopes United to let him continue his development in La Liga until at least the end of the campaign.

"Yes, I want to be here, help Valencia until June. I came with that thought, I know that there is a clause in the contract [for United to recall me in January] and now I have to wait to see. But my mind is focused on Valencia and I want to stay here," Pereira said.

"It is important that I am playing to grow, improve and help Valencia. It would be very difficult to return to United at mid-season and continue with the same evolution that I'm having now here."

Questioned whether he has considered returning to United, the Brazilian added: "No, no. I am well here and I have always though that I made the right decision in the summer [by joining Valencia]. I am very happy and I want to continue in Valencia CF."
