Meghan Markle Reportedly 'Stung' as Hoped-for Beyoncé Catch-up Fails To Materialise After Jay-Z's London Concert
Meghan Markle reportedly left 'stung' after Beyoncé reunion in London fails to materialise

Meghan Markle reportedly hoped her return to the UK would give her an opportunity to reconnect privately with Beyoncé, but a private meeting never happened, according to a source cited by Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice column.
The Duchess of Sussex was reportedly disappointed after Beyoncé did not meet with her during Jay-Z's two-night concert run at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the source claimed.
The reported meeting did not take place as Beyoncé was in London for Jay-Z's performances, with the first night coinciding with her 45th birthday on 4 September.
The singer was seen in a VIP area during the show as Jay-Z led the crowd in singing 'Happy Birthday' to her, while the couple's London visit fuelled speculation about whether they would see Harry and Meghan privately.
Why Meghan Was Reportedly 'Stung' After Missing a Meeting With Beyoncé
The insider told Naughty But Nice that Meghan did not expect Beyoncé to make a grand gesture, but allegedly believed they would find time for a more personal meeting away from the concert.
'Meghan didn't expect Beyoncé to roll out a red carpet,' an insider tells Naughty But Nice. 'But she absolutely assumed they would have tea, lunch or spend some private time together. When nothing happened, it stung.'
The source further claimed that Meghan viewed her relationship with Beyoncé as something more meaningful than a celebrity acquaintance, particularly given their previous interactions and the public support the singer has shown her. 'That's what hurt,' adds Shuter's insider. 'Meghan didn't want another Beyoncé concert. She wanted Beyoncé.'
There has been no public confirmation from Meghan or Beyoncé that either expected a private meeting during the London trip.
A Friendship Built on Public Glimpses and Private Texts
Meghan and Beyoncé's connection became public in 2019, when the Sussexes met the singer and Jay-Z at the European premiere of The Lion King in London's Leicester Square.
The four were photographed together during the event, with Beyoncé appearing to tell Meghan 'My Princess' as the pair embraced. The meeting generated considerable attention because of the warm interaction between the two couples.
Their connection was referenced again in 2025, when Harry and Meghan attended Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter concert in Los Angeles.
Meghan shared footage from the evening, including a clip of Harry kissing her on the cheek, alongside the caption: 'About last night.... Thank you @beyonce and team for an amazing concert (and a very fun date night). All love.'
The Sussexes had previously attended Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in 2023.

Meghan Markle Previously Revealed Beyoncé's Private Support
Beyoncé's reported contact with Meghan became particularly significant after the Duchess and Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey aired in March 2021. In the second volume of the Sussexes' Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, Meghan revealed that Beyoncé had messaged her the day after the interview.
While working alongside Harry in their Montecito home, Meghan announced, 'Beyoncé just texted', prompting a surprised reaction from her husband.
Meghan explained that the singer was checking in and said, 'I still can't believe she knows who I am!'
She then revealed the substance of the message, saying Beyoncé wanted her to feel 'safe and protected' and that she admired and respected her 'bravery and vulnerability.'
Meghan also said the singer believed she had been selected to 'break generational curses that need to be healed'.
Beyoncé also publicly acknowledged Meghan after the interview, posting a photograph of the pair from The Lion King premiere on her website with a message thanking her for her 'courage and leadership.'
The latest claims have renewed attention on a relationship that has previously been presented as warm and supportive, although neither woman has confirmed that a private London reunion had been planned.
