Met Police's Counter Terrorism Command arrests man in north London on Syria-related terror charge
Arrest of 32-year-old comes days after a man and 16-year-old girl were detained over plans to join Isis.
A man has been arrested in northwest London on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts, police have said. The 32-year-old suspect was detained on Wednesday morning (24 August) at an address in the NW10 postcode area.
Officers said he had been taken to a central London police station, where he remains "pending further enquiries".
Detectives from the Met Police's Counter Terrorism Command (SO15) said the arrest is "linked to Syria" but reveled no further details.
Officers confirmed the case is not connected to the arrest of a 30-year-old British Army soldier, who was detained in Somerset on the same day as part of an investigation into terrorism in Northern Ireland.
It comes just days after a man and a 16-year-old girl were detained by police on a separate matter over plans to travel to Syria and join terrorist group Islamic State (Isis). The pair were arrested by the Met Police on Sunday (21 August 2016).
