Microsoft Surface Book goes on sale in the UK
After being available on pre-order for more than a month, Microsoft's Windows 10 running Surface Book is now on sale in the UK starting at £1,299 ($1,871) for the 128GB storage variant powered with Intel Core i5 processor. The 256GB model using Core i5 processor costs £1,599, and you will have to shell out just £200 more if you want to buy the Core i7 powered Surface Book with a similar storage capacity. The tablet with the highest storage option of 512GB costs £2,249.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is also running some special trade up offers where you can save up to £400. The products you can trade in for this offer are Surface Pro 3, Surface 3, Surface Pro 1/2, Surface 2, Surface RT, Apple iPad, MacBook, any Intel Core I Laptop and Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Surface Pro 4, which was launched alongside the Surface Book, costs £749 for the lowest storage variant powered with Intel Core m3 processor.
You can make the maximum cash of up to £400 by trading in your Apple MacBook for the Surface Book. But note that your trade-in device must be a maximum of six years old and should meet accepted standards outlined by Microsoft.
Apart from Microsoft Store, a number of third party retailers in the UK are selling the Surface Book, with a marginal difference in price. Amazon has priced the 128GB, Core i5 model at £1,349, whereas John Lewis and Currys are selling the model for around the same price as the Microsoft Store.
