Microsoft's Windows 10 budget phone Lumia 550 goes on pre-order in UK
The phone is available for pre-order on contracts starting at £9.50
Lumia 550, Microsoft's affordable 4G LTE Lumia brand phone powered with Windows 10, is now available for pre-orders in the UK. Retailers across the country are quoting an early date in December for shipment.
While the Microsoft Store in the UK is yet to announce pre-orders, retailers have already started the process. Carphone Warehouse is charging £89.99 for a SIM-free Lumia 550. You can also pre-order via Pay Monthly tariffs, provided you are looking for deals on contract. The retailer has listed a number of network operators - EE, Vodafone, iD and O2 - allowing consumers to find their favourite tariff though contract with the operators.
The lowest deal starts at £9.50 per month and without any initial payment, which is from iD, owned by Carphone Warehouse. The deal fetches you 300 minutes, 5,000 texts and 500MB 4G UK data. For more details about tariffs, head over to the product page. Expect delivery of the product by 8 December, says the retailer.
A couple of more options are available if you are looking for more SIM-free deals. You can get one from Clove which is currently charging £99. Unlocked Mobiles customers will also have to pay around the same price. Both of them noted 10 December for stock availability. Giffgaff, another online retailer, has confirmed it will be selling the phone once it becomes available in the country, but is yet to commence pre-orders.
