Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth celebrate Fourth of July weekend with new pet dog

Miley Cyrus, on Sunday (3 July) introduced the "newest member" of her family – Barbie, an adopted beagle puppy. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker shared photos of herself with her pet dog to 46 million of her followers on Instagram.

The first photo the songstress shared shows the young canine staring straight into the camera lens. The 23-year-old singer captioned the photo: "Happy to introduce the newest member of my family Barbie."

The second photo shows Barbie sitting alongside one of the singer's pit bulls. "Sisterzzzz!!!! Barbie ❤️s," Cyrus captioned the photo.

In another post, the make-up free singer cuddles her newest pet. Both Cyrus and the dog are dressed in matching stars and stripes outfits to mark Independence Day. "Happy 4th from Barbie!!!! ❤️❤️❤️," she wrote.

Cyrus has two pit bulls — Milky and Mary-Jane. She also has a sheepdog named Emu, chihuahua mix called Bean, a tiny furball Penny Lane, and a Rottweiler-beagle mix named Happy, whom the singer and her partner Liam Hemsworth adopted in 2012 when they found her on the streets. Besides having a number of dogs, the Party In The USA singer also has a few cats and a pig named Bubba Sue.

According to People magazine, after introducing the puppy to her fans on Instagram, Cyrus and Hemsworth were spotted on a date night at celebrity hotspot Soho House in Malibu, California. The singer was wearing the same 3.5 carat engagement ring the Aussie actor had proposed with before they called it quits in 2013.

The Hunger Games actor recently revealed that it was hard breaking up with Cyrus after getting engaged in 2012.

"Of course it was hard, man. But at the time we were going in different directions and it's just what needed to happen. We were both super young and it was a good decision at the time — we both needed that," the 26-year-old actor said during an interview with the Australian edition of GQ magazine.

Cyrus and Hemsworth started dating in 2009 after meeting on the sets of the movie Last Song. The two parted ways in 2013 but rekindled their romance in December 2015.
