Mission Impossible 6: Is Priyanka Chopra starring alongside Tom Cruise in next Hollywood adventure?
Parts of the action film's sixth instalment is expected to be shot in India.
As Alex Parrish, Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra has already earned accolades for packing on some action in the ABC series. And now buzz is that she may soon be rubbing shoulders with Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise.
According to a latest report, the 34-year-old global star is tipped to be cast in Cruise's famous action franchise Mission Impossible, which recently kicked off production in Paris. Following the shoot in the French capital, parts of the sixth instalment are expected to be filmed in India. And if all goes well for Chopra, she may be packing a punch alongside the 54-year-old superstar.
"The Mission Impossible team is keen to have Priyanka Chopra on board," sources in Los Angeles told Deccan Chronicle fuelling hopes for Chopra's fans worldwide. While it would indeed be a dream come true for action-film lovers, chances are high that the Bollywood actress may be seen in a cameo.
The source added, "[Chopra] has her schedule in America to work around. The new season of Quantico is going to begin. Whatever her other commitments, it is doubtful she will say no to Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible."
The Indian actress shot to fame in Hollywood with her role as a fierce FBI agent in the ABC crime-thriller Quantico. The show, which is currently in its second season has also earned the multi-talented star two consecutive People's Choice Awards. But there have been rumours of the series being axed amid a dip in ratings.
Chopra is also set to have a packed schedule this summer, as she looks forward to the release of her first Hollywood film – Baywatch on 26 May. Being cast alongside stars like Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, the movie promotions are expected to keep the actress on her toes.
Meanwhile, MI 6 officially began production in France and director Christopher McQuarrie took to Twitter to share an on-set photo. The upcoming film has already generated buzz as Cruise is set to perform some "unbelievable" stunts to top everything that he has done before including the Burj Khalifa act.
Joining Cruise is Superman star Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Rebecca Ferguson in the film that is set for a July 2018 release.
